Barcelona, Day 2

We had quite the adventurous day today as I dragged Whitney and Kate all over town checking out various Gaudi structures.  Casa Batllo is right around the corner from out hotel.
Then we headed to Casa Mila, La Pedrera.  I love his trippy achitectural style.

Next we walked around Sagrada Familia, Gaudi last work.  He died in 1926 and this church is not projected to be finished until 2026.  Crazy stuff!

After that we made the semi-long trek to Park Guell for a little more Gaudi action.

The views of Barcelona from the top were beautiful.  Also, I have no idea why I'm climbing the wall of the caves but other tourists seemed to be doing it so I joined in.  Now time for a siesta after all that walking.

Day 1 in Barcelona

We checked into out hotel this morning after our 12 hour train ride.  Since we are here a week, there was not urgency to see everything.  Instead we just strolled around Las Ramblas and went down to check out the water.  The weather is beatiful, as is the city.

We are now "siesta-ing" before heading out to find some Paella for dinner.

Paris, Day 2

Last night I got my escargot fix and even got Whitney and Kate to try them.  The really liked them!

Wednesday we wandered around the city a little more  We went y Moulin Rouge.
Then we walked up to Sacre Coeur and toured around inside.

Then last night we headed to the train station for our overnight trenhotel to Barcelona.

We had a cute little room with bunk beds.  We arrive in Barcelona at 8am and are excited about our next week exporing.

Paris, Day One

We woke up at the crack of dawn this morning and caught the Eurostar train to Paris straight from London.
In just 2.5 hours we were popping up in the middle of Paris.  It was raining when we first got in but turned into a beautiful day.  Our hotel is right off the Arc de Triomphe and very quaint.  We had a champion of a day hitting all the main tourist stops:  Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, Louvre, Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower.

We are about to regroup for dinner which will most definitely include escargot!

Last Day in London

After a hot weekend in London, Monday was a little chillier and drizzly.  I'm not complaining though, it felt great!  We took a boat tour on the Thames which was very entertaining.  Then we hopping on a red double-decker bus for a little more sight seeing

Kate and I at the Tower of London

Whitney and Kate cruising the streets of London
For dinner we met a couple of other friends at Spice Market in the W Hotel.  We had the most amazing meal ever!  I'll leave you with a picture of the dessert we split.

Day 2 London

After sleeping an amazing amount of time Saturday night, Kate went off to cover the Men's Basketball game for the Gold and Whitney and I headed down to see the Tower Bridge.

We met up with Kate Sunday evening and had dining in Covent Garden.  After dinner we headed to a pub to watch the closing ceremonies.  A very fun second day!
