I just got off the most relaxing and enjoyable long weekend in quite some time.
No, I didn't run off to the Caribbean. I ran to visit Nikki and Brad and their new little addition, Weston.
This was my first time to visit their new place in Naples. Between the lush Florida landscaping and the river flowing in the backyard, it really felt like I was miles and miles away from the city. We lunched and shopped and spent plenty of time poolside lounging and grilling. Well, Brad did the grilling. I just ate.
Weston was the perfect little baby, so content and happy. Nikki and Brad have always been wonderful hosts and entertainers, and it looks like that talent translates perfectly into parenting.
Saturday afternoon we hit the Great Dock Canoe Races and hung out in Tin City for live music and BBQ.
Sunday I crashed Nikki's first Mother's Day and we all headed to the beach. It was one of the most still and beautiful ocean views I've seen in recent memory. I can't explain how relaxing this whole trip was but from these pictures you might begin to understand.
I had such a fun time! Thanks to Nikki and Brad for sharing their little man with me. I definitely come back to Dallas leaving a little bit of my heart with Weston. Can't wait to see him again in the Fall.

World Series, Rangers vs. Cardinals
Last Saturday I attended my first ever World Series game! Last year was the first year for the Rangers to make the World Series and I was excited to tailgate at a game in the Ballpark parking lot. This year I actually got to go to the game.
Sadly we did not win Game 3, but that in no way diminished the experience. That's just how baseball go.

Henry Ford Museum - Dearborn, MI
Nothing like having an entire museum at your disposal during a wedding! Planes, trains and automobiles as far as the eye could see.
Motor City
While in Detroit I hit up the Tigers game. What a great ball park.
They are really serious about their tigers. They were EVERYWHERE.
